Minister Maeng, Hyung Kyu paid a courtesy call on H.E. Leonel Fernandez, President of the Dominican Republic on February 14, 2012 (local time) in Santa Domingo. The two sides exchanged views to strengthen bilateral relations, in particular, in the field of public administration.
Minister Maeng has been invited to the 'Quality Week', an annual event hosted by the Dominican Republic Government, to share Korea's experience in public administration including e-government, personnel, local administration and disaster safety with Latin American countries. As a token of appreciation for the invitation, Minister presented a gift of bicycle to President Fernandez, a symbol of green growth policy of MOPAS.
As part of the three-nation Latin America tour, Minister Maeng will also be visiting Panama and Columbia to promote cooperation in public administration.
